Indian Summers

So, september rain was staved off by the sun. Another indian summer has happened upon us this year, and I locked myself away for a few days of it, trying to force some stuff out. Everyone knows this just isn’t the done thing. The september sessions blighted by a lack of focus and energy. 70ft Fall has gone on hiatus at least until Christmas. Booking out rehearsal rooms just doesn’t have the same effect for solo work as it does for a band jam session. Still, progress is steadily being made on an album. I’m not sure now if it’s the same one that I set out to make 10 months ago, but it’s not a bad thing. At least I’m not treating it as one. Just checking in at the moment. More will come. More is to follow. For now, just keep checking the wires. Cheers

First Listen to ‘Further’

Up above, hopefully loading or loaded as you read this, should be the mp3 of the new demo track ‘Further’. This is the first airing of the track with any real push from me or Hand & Face. The track will be going up on myspace tomorrow and I will be informing twitter sometime soon, but for those few of you who do follow my doings at the moment, thanks, and hope you enjoy it.

Earlier tonight, a new song was muffled out and recorded at home. It’s called ‘Further‘ and at the moment, it’s a bit of a blurry version, but I might whack it up on SoundCloud when I’m happy with the reverb levels. Take care.

Shining Bright

Quick update from the unknown: Working on new 70ft Fall stuff over the last few weeks and from that, have managed to set up a collaboration of sorts. I’m not going to delve any further into that now. It is top secret. But a new 70 song has been written, with the bares bones out for all to see. Over the next week or so, hopefully this will take form a little more. Scarfboy is not on hold. As ever, it’s an ongoing thing. But I’ve been trying to make inroads into all the things I’ve not had time for recently, and I have hopefully started to address all these things. I’ve even blogged on Hand & Face for the first time in ages… Well, posted a photo anyway.

Puns for New Beginnings

So this is just another rush of blood to the head; it’s destined to peter out and all end in tears at the first sign of trouble, decent swell or something shiny. Blogs that I’ve kept before, or indeed still keep, would tell you (if they didn’t need my input to function) that my record with this kind of thing just isn’t good.

Though for now just try to enjoy the effort. The music is happening at a rate which I can be happy with. This website/blog is just another extension of that and it focuses all my efforts. I am a firm believer in websites over myspaces and facebooks. I won’t [can't] shun them, they help give artists a greater leg up then any of our older contemporaries could ever have dreamed of, and I’m not into gift-horse staring. But you have to put some effort back in. My effort is in the form of writing, being informative and being pro-active with my music and shaping my sound. One day, I’ll put enough effort in to push it all into place. Maybe one day, I’ll be on time.
